Today I found myself just a handful of shots in to an event when my battery pooped out.  I wasn’t expecting to shoot anything specific, but the occasion arose and my equipment wasn’t completely ready.

Fortunately, in my bag I had my spare pack with me that uses just 6 “AA” cell batteries.  This, of course, goes with my Vertical Grip/Battery Holder, an accessory that provides the use of a second battery for your camera.  With it comes a pack which allows you to use the “AA” cell batteries.  Excellent in a pinch — it allowed me to shoot off almost 100 pics of the event while my normal batteries recharged.
